Midwest Wooden Toys, LLC in Clear Lake is proud to announce its Inaugural  Oakwood  Derby on  Saturday morning, July 25, 2026,

starting at 10:00 a.m. 

This FREE EVENT will be for all kids between the ages of five (5) and nine (9) as of July 25th. Registration will be available at Briggs Lake General Store on Saturday, July 18th, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., or until all fifty (50) race cars have been distributed. 

This event will be limited to fifty (50) participants, so the “first come, first served” principal will be applied. At registration, competitors will receive their race car, a box of dry erase markers to decorate their car the way they like, a list of the rules and regulations, a registration form to be completed by a legal parent or guardian who accompanies the competitor to the registration, and a coupon for a free ice cream cone at the Briggs Lake General Store.

Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place. Each competitor will receive a participation ribbon.

The event is sponsored by Midwest Wooden Toys, LLC, the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Department, Travis William’s State Farm Insurance, Briggs Lake General Store, Clear Lake Lions, and Scout Troop 94 of Clear Lake.

The location of the race is 11746 42nd Street SE, Clear Lake, two miles East of Palmer on 42nd Street.

Parking will be at 11746, 11756, or on the North side of 42nd Street. Free coffee and water will be available, as well as porta potties.

Again, this is limited to only fifty (50) participants. To assure a place for your child, get to the registration early!  Let’s all remember that this is for fun, so everyone needs to be patient, respectful and willing to make adjustments, as this is a first-time event. ​ Hope to see you there!
